Create Your Own Challenge - Snowflake Challenge #15

My challenge is to leave a comment on the next fanwork you consume. Comments are so appreciated by fanwork creators. They let us know what you enjoyed and how we made you feel with our ideas and hard work. If you've never left a comment before, don't be shy, people love to get them. Do it anonymously if you want to.

I've left a couple of comments today on some fics that I read. They're older fics so the writer might not even look at them any more but I hope they do.

what a great challenge! I've just posted something for the first time in years and the comments I've got so far have made me so happy! I'm going to try and commit to commenting on things more and this is a great kick off for that!

Absolutely! I have zero time for reading fic right now (at that awful stage in the semester where you're desperate for it to be over, but also could really do with a whole extra month to try and finish things in) but as soon as these assignments are over, I going on a read + comment mission! Might even go back through some of my faves and leave some comments.

I would love it if there was a feature where you could highlight and leave comments on stuff as you go (a la google docs) - I always forget stuff by the time I get to the end!

I've found some browser add-ons you can use to highlight and comment. Will still have to copy that stuff into the comment box once you get to the end, but at least it can keep all my notes and thoughts!

Absolutely a thing that will happen. The work that I'm in the middle of is hilarious and has captured the spirit of the thing so well.

It's a Spider-Verse work that tells the story through group texts, Twitter posts, Reddit threads, and the other artifacts of social media.

Great challenge! Comments are the lifeblood of fandom.

If they get notifications, I'm sure the author is going to read and be thrilled at the comments you left!

Getting a comment on older fic is always a lovely surprise, I hope they see them! Comments are a great motivator & it's such an amazing feeling to know that what I've created has connected with people. Equally leaving a comment always feels good, too, great challenge!
